Today, I understood what is CSS and how it can affect the appearance of a web page. I now know how a CSS page is presented on the Internet and the codes that are involved to display the various page elements. I know that each HTML document must begin with a document type declaration that declares which version of HTML the document adheres to. The doctype declaration is not an HTML tag; it is an instruction to the web browser about what version of the markup language the page is written in. HTML 4 comes in three flavours, each with a different DOCTYPE. I also know what does do to the web page, it changes the formatting and styling of the content and look of the whole web page.

The HTML Challenge which my infocomm teacher instructed us to do was to work in pairs (but chose to do it myself) and using only the notepad application, create a web page that looks similar to the screen shot page my teacher created. It was quite difficult as I had to know what the letters or symbols represent. These are the slides that will teach you html in 10 mins. That is all.........

Today, my infocomm teacher told us to post and reply meaningful insight and responses pertaining to the subject topics on the discussion forum in the WNM Ning Network my teacher created. I had to go to the forum or at http://is-wnm.ning.com/forum and select my class category. I had to select the forum topic that is dedicated to me based on the class index number stated. I have to read the forum discussion thread carefully and post a reply of about 100 words as a guideline in the "Reply to This" box. Then I have to click "Add Reply" when I am done. After this posting, I also have to read 1 other posting by my peers in 1 OTHER forum (within my class category only) and make constructive/meaningful feedback of about 50 words to them. We did not have enough time so we had to do the forum posting at home.

I am Aloysius Ong, from 1A1. I did not really like C++ during term. But this term, I am interested in this new topic, web-design as my teacher is very friendly and comical. Firstly, we watched this video. It is really interesting. Then we went to join my teacher's 'ning' group for discussion. These are the slides I learnt on that day. I knew a little bit about Web 1.0 and Web 2.0, knowing the similarities and the differences.
